Heat Protection for Floors
As stoves now burn cleaner and hotter than ever, conventional ember protectors or homemade hearths may not suffice to shield the combustible floor beneath your stove. Current building codes and safety standards demand hearth pads to deliver ample thermal protection tailored to the specific stove model. With this consideration, we present two tiers of protection to cater to the diverse needs of every stove. All our pads undergo testing to ensure compliance with or surpass UL 1618 standards. Whether you're using gas, pellets, corn, coal, oil, or wood, our hearth pads not only provide market-leading protection but also enhance the aesthetic appeal of your space.
Type 2 – Traditional Hearth Pads: Designed for today's highly efficient stoves, Hearth Classics offers non-combustible hearth pads that effectively block heat transfer to your subfloor. These pads are fully non-combustible, boasting an impressive R-value of 2.24 or 1.592 (refer to R-value information). This R-value exceeds the minimum requirements for Type 2 hearth pads (minimum requirement of R-value=1.0). For hearth pads requiring an exceptionally high R-value, we recommend ThermaShield or a 6" pedestal. All our pads are rigorously tested to meet or exceed UL1618 standards, ensuring top-notch quality and safety.
